Alaska Commission on Aging to meet in Soldotna, Girdwood

 


The Alaska Commission on Aging (ACoA) will hold a quarterly meeting September 15 and 17, 2015, in the Kenai area and in Girdwood. The meeting will start in the Soldotna Senior Center, September 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. and will continue on Sept. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Girdwood at the Public Library Conference Room.

Public comment is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, from 2:30 to 3 p.m. at the Soldotna Senior Center. You can provide public comment in person or by teleconference by calling 1-800-315-6338 using code 53250#.

ACoA’s business meeting and listening forums are open to the public with the business meeting accessible by teleconference at 1-800-315-6338 using code 53250#.

On Thursday, September 17, the commission will partner with the Anchorage Senior Advisory Commission to learn about the challenges of Alaska’s fiscal situation and opportunities to look for ways to achieve budget sustainability.


The group will also listen to Alaska’s efforts on Medicaid expansion and reform. This meeting is also available by teleconference at 1-800-315-6338 using code 53250#.

The Anchorage Senior Advisory Commission also wants to get to learn about the types of senior services provided and needed in Girdwood and to hold a public comment session at 3 p.m. This meeting will take place in the Girdwood Public Library Conference room.
