Fall health fairs wrap this month

November 1, 2018

November is our final month of health fairs for fall 2018, with several events held around the state. Remember that the events offer free health screenings, health and safety education, plus 11 affordable, comprehensive and private blood tests (starting at $20). These tests can help you learn about your overall health and detect potential problems early, when treatment or changes in personal habits can be the most effective. Try to take time out of your busy schedule and take advantage of our team of medical and non-medical professionals when we come to your local area.

Each event listed is free and open to the public.

Our most popular, affordable and comprehensive test is the Chemistry/Hematology Profile ($45), which covers a total of 27 panels: Infection, Anemia, Liver Disease, Clotting ability, Kidney and Adrenal function, Liver function, Bone disease, Tissue disease or damage, Heart function, Liver function, Muscle function, and Coronary heart disease.

Volunteers needed

We have a variety of people volunteering for us, from doctors to nurses to military to administrative workers, to well-known athletes. There are all kinds of duties and commitment levels available, from a couple of hours in the office to half-a-day at the fairs. Even if you have just one hour to help us out, or have never volunteered before, don’t worry, just give us a call and we will take care of you.

Time volunteered for health fairs meets continued competency requirements for RN license renewal, so let us know if you need your hours documented.

We would love to have and still need your much-needed support at either our Anchorage or Fairbanks offices, as our agency’s work goes on year-round. Check out our website at http://www.alaskahealthfair.org and select the volunteer tab at the top of the main page. It just takes moments to complete and submit the form. You’ll receive an immediate confirmation email from noreply@alaskahealthfair.org and we’ll reach out to see what hours fit into your busy schedule. We thank ALL of our wonderful volunteers, exhibitors and site coordinators for their tireless work to make our events and our local offices worthy of your efforts to improve your overall health.
