Be part of Wasilla Area Seniors, Inc.’s virtual Miles for Meals 5K fundraising event. Miles for Meals is WASI’s largest fundraising event of the year, supporting Meals on Wheels of the Mat-Su Valley. Using the proceeds, WASI strives to end senior hunger and malnutrition in the Mat-Su by delivering meals to seniors in their homes and ensuring they are safe.

Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, this year’s event will be virtual, meaning participants won’t gather together on race day as they’ve done in the past. Instead, they can run, walk or roll at their own pace in their own space. This is a fantastic time to gather the family to run, stroll, ride or maybe just put a few miles on the home treadmill. Race when you want -- any time between June 1 and the summer solstice on June 20 counts. Register now at EventBrite.com and then let WASI know when you complete the race. Make a video, take a selfie, or stop by the Wasilla Senior Center and they’ll take your picture beneath their “Finish Line” banner.

Participants are encouraged to ask friends, family and other folk to sponsor their Run/Walk/Roll or create their own Facebook social media fundraiser. All collected donations support seniors in the Mat Su.
