Seeking nominees for Anchorage senior service award

Application deadline for Ron Hammett Award is March 20

Do you know an outstanding individual whose service, dedication and leadership have had a significant impact on the quality of life for seniors in Anchorage? May is Older Americans Month, and once again, the Anchorage Senior Citizens Advisory Commission will be presenting the Ron Hammett Award.

Ron Hammett, a commissioner serving on the Senior Citizens Advisory Commission in 2004, was an extraordinary man who exemplified the spirit of outstanding service to seniors and their families. He worked tirelessly as an advocate for seniors in Anchorage, and we know there are many others out there who are as generous and worthy as Ron. We’d like to remember him and reward him and reward those who still strive to make Anchorage and Alaska a better place to live for all of us, including seniors.

Please join us all in recalling the spirit and generosity of Ron Hammett by nominating someone you know for this prestigious award by March 20, 2015. The award will be presented at the Older Americans Month event on May 6, 2015 from 10 a.m. to noon.
