The Palmer Senior Citizen’s Center, Inc., which does business as Mat-Su Senior Services (PSCC/MSSS), has appointed Elda McCraw to the position of chief executive officer.
Elda has been active in the organization and in the Mat-Su community. Elda is a lifetime member of PSCC/MSSS and has been on the board for more than six years. As a director she has volunteered many hours as well as financially invested in many of the board projects.
She has worked to address projects that had languished due to lack of funding or lack of hands. This included a six-month project archiving old records, two spring projects of improving the gardens, supporting the re-opening of the library, coordinating the Colony Days Float, and serving as a volunteer for bingo.
Elda retired from both BP Alaska and Alyeska Pipeline, where she worked in contracting, finance and accounting positions. She has a master’s degree in global logistics from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She completed the nonprofit management class offered at Mat-Su College. Elda is also active in Rotary, Palmer Lions, and the Palmer Historical Society among other volunteer organizations to which she has given time.
Founded in 1980, Palmer Senior Citizens Center, doing business as Mat-Su Senior Services, serves a wide geographical area from its full-service headquarters in Palmer.
