Congratulations to Patti Wilkinson, who was voted the winner of this year's annual Iron Chef Chili Cookoff at the Anchorage Pioneer Home on June 14. She is holding the prize Iron Chef skillet, the fifth Iron Chef win for Wilkinson, who works on staff at the center but retires at the end of June.
The Iron Chef skillet event was held on the facility's outside patio in warm sunshine with entertainment provided by the Alaska Button Box Gang, above, and the Chugach Mountain Cloggers. Hotdogs and hamburgers were provided by the Mason's Alpha Lodge #1, along with beans, potato salad and root beer floats. The home's next Iron Chef competition will be July 3, featuring homemade pies for this year's annual Baking Contest theme.
