More than a dozen Corvettes participated in a "Celebrating Our Seniors" parade July 23 for the residents of Chugach Manor and Chugach View apartments in Anchorage. The purpose was to help lift spirits during these times of pandemic restrictions, organizers said. More than 250 Alaska seniors live in the apartments and the parade route passed by each resident's window, where they could watch in comfort while tuning into a local radio station for nostalgic music. Host organizations included Alaska Housing Finance Corp. and the Municipality of Anchorage, the Anchorage Corvette Association, Aging and Disability Resource Center, Anchorage Community Patrol, East Rotary Club and the Anchorage Police Department.
