Providence Family Medicine Center has been recognized by the American Heart Association and American Medical Association for its commitment to improving blood pressure control rates, earning Silver-level recognition from a national initiative that seeks to lower blood pressure called Target: BP.
The Silver achievement award recognizes practices that have demonstrated commitment to improving blood pressure control through BP measurement accuracy.
Additionally, three Providence Medical Group Primary Care locations— Huffman, Midtown and S Tower—received the Participation achievement award for submitting data to Target: BP for the first time.
Participating in the program helps improve patient outcomes and gives health care providers access to resources to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and management of blood pressure.
High blood pressure, or hypertension, is a leading risk factor for heart attacks, strokes and preventable death in the U.S. There are 122.4 million U.S. adults living with hypertension.
