Alaska Behavioral health has a mental health lunch-and-learn series beginning Jan. 5. It’s Mondays from noon to 1 p.m. through Feb. 23 via Zoom.

The first webinar on Jan. 5 is titled “In with the New, Out with the Old: Evaluate and Modify Automatic Thoughts, Beliefs and Behaviors to Fit your Current Needs and Desired Outcomes, Now.” Other topics include stress and stress response, goals and mission statements, imposter syndrome, and building community after military transition.
Sealaska Heritage Institute is offering free online language courses Jan. 6 through Feb. 12. It’s an Alaska Native Language Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) that is free for all participants. Instructor Dak Júus Rob Yates will go over the Haida alphabet and introduce learners to the unique sounds of the language. Also covered will be Xaad Kíl greetings and responses, everyday phrases, and self-narration strategies and benefits. Each meeting is Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. Register here.
